Interpersonal therapy for depression is the third approach that is worth mentioning. Many of the problems that exist for the individual stem from a variety of relationships. This can be an individual’s relationship within the community a person lives or a more personal relationship with family members. The entire concept relates to how a person can relate with other people surrounding them in their everyday lives. The majority of depression suffers in this category revolve around poor social skills and that can be adjusted over time if the patient is willing. These poor social skills include :

- Displaying less interaction in group situations
- Unwitting carrying out “off putting” social behavior such as inappropriate questioning, too much or too little self-disclosure, or missing out small talk.
