 Oh no. That is sooo sad.   My condolences to you.     I dont know if the hospital was in the wrong or not. He may not have been suicidal just depressed.  They probably should have given him something to help him relax.   Im sorry this happened to you and your family. He was not medicaed for his paranoia or agitation.  After 18 hours of self-torment and despair he climbed out of the window and plunged to his death leaving a wife and two babies to live their lives without him.

I’m sorry to hear that. I had a similar experience with my best friend in the early 80’s.  They put him on massive anti-depressants then didn’t follow up.  The AD’s erased any emotion, negative or positive, that he had and he shot himself.  I still blame myself for not realizing how bad it was and the hospital for medicating and dumping him. Many hospitals are the worst place to go for help…They still think of depression and mania as a "phase" that will clear in time. Our thoughts are with you. So sorry to hear that. I know the pain you are going through. My best friend, who was also my Dad committed suicide in August. He lived for two days but didn’t make it. We rarely ever get to find out ‘Why’ and that hurts terribly when you have tried time and time again to help them. He is at peace now, I know that we are the ones left in a hell, due to the fact that we have to deal with the loss. My heart goes out to you and if you ever need to talk.
