moderate manic depression: this exists – right ?

Question:

I hope you don’t have it, it’s no picnic and there is a stigma. Welcome! Yes, this is a good place to discuss manic depression. You will find that people are helpful, polite, and civil (with some crude exception I have found). YES there are degrees of bipolar; and it’s often mixed with multiple other problems. Very very complicated subject matter. Clearly, only a DOCTOR can diagnose if you have this condition or not. That you can perhaps see it in yourself is a strong indicator. There is no "blood test" for it or anything like that. The doctor can only diagnose it behaviorally. Best wishes, -Rich In the DSM 4 bipolar diorder isn’t labelled Moderate, unless say in a depressed mood one can be mild,mod.,severe.If moderate you still need attention help from your self and a support system, from professionals, good ones, and

a vigilance which lets you live a fully functioning life,as much as possible.R

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Good Night, Here I am struggling since my earliest conscious thoughts with what may be a cycling of moderate depression-mania. At least it looks that way from where I stand today looking back ( and forward ). I have glanced through many of the postings on this site and hope that here I might find some help, if not be of some help to others. If I am in the wrong place – I trust that the moderator will politely direct me to the door. I appreciate everyone’s consideration of my condition – and I will certainly freely share as many details as one can stand, if asked. Best, Fraser
