        Hello Group,                 I am struggling with my pdoc, I have been clinically depressed for about 10 years. He put me on Zoloft and I developed my mania only after reaching toxic levels with the Zoloft. I have serotonin syndrome and am weaning myself off with his approval. I have one more week until I quit. I have truly never had a manic episode until I started Zoloft. My mother was BP and I think that’s why he rushed to judgment.         He said Im BP II and prescribed me Zyprexa and will wean me onto it. I argued with him for five minutes that I only became manic because of the Zoloft and that another SSRI may help me without spinning me into mania. I really haven’t had any manic episodes or noticed mania until I started medication for my depression. I know only a small percentage truly are spun into mania by Zoloft alone and my doctor says I’m not one. I have BP in my genes and he doesn’t want to even try something else.         Any one here have a situation similar to mine? When switched to another SSRI the mania disappeared and it was successful with depression?                 Thank You for any input

I have to agree with the argument, my doc does not put me on any of the anti depressants because it makes me manic way before I hit the max dosage. Rose
