are all the people in Austrailia depressed?

Question:

i’ve been to a bunch of depression groups and the word Austrailia is in every other sentence. i’m new here and i’m young, be gentle.

I think they’re more honest with themselves as a population, and quicker to seek help wherever they can.

Hiya im doing suprisingly well! the more promotion and good publicity MH issues receive, the better people will accept it. Lets just hope society gets better some day…

being technical, i think the figures are 1 in 4 women, and 1 in 6 men, at any time of their lives. not being very technical, i know more people who aren’t than who are. i think maybe because we have this whole big mental health strategy thing, and because there have been various campaigns promoting mental illness as being alright, that it’s more accepted. which means more people get help, get diagnosed, and in the long term get better. am i rambling again? well, i hope it helps!! gnomie, depressed australian and loving it…

Australia has the 10 most poisonous snakes on the planet, the lethal Funnel Web Spider, and most of it is being overrun by Cane Toads — they even have a poisonous mammal (platypus).  I’d be depressed if I lived there too! Heh.  Just kidding.  (I’ve been watching lots of nature shows lately.) R
