im dan and ive had extreme depression most of my life. sometimes its so bad i have phisical pain from it. my life is shit and the only thing that kills the pain is alcohol
Hi Dan. All I can say is, if you want a hug from another guy, here it is: What a horrible problem. I’ve battled the same kinds of demons, and just went through an episode for a couple of weeks. I’m sorry it hurts so much, buddy. If you want some help, one thing that has helped me was a book by David Burns called "Feeling Good". I know it sounds stupid, but it worked for me and gave me a lot of insight into what was going on when I said stuff like "my life is shit" (yes, I know, I was saying it yesterday). Alcohol really feels good. I’m not going to tell you not to drink, hell, if you were here, I’d serve ‘em up for you all night. I’ve been there and if you want it, you want it. But I will say, if you can get to the point where you can stop, it feels even better. That depends, Daniel, there is plenty of help across the country for alcoholics through Alcoholics Anonymous. If you think you get depressed without alcohol, bet you it’s much worse, in the end, with it. Look it up in your phone book. Someone will help you with the alcoholism. You might also need other professional help, but I’m not qualified to tell you what kind
