Depression Effects

Depression effects involve not only the individual, but also everyone that surrounds the individual. In some ways it is very similar to the alcoholic or the alcoholic depressive who suffers from internal insecurities as well as the outside influences. Individuals experiencing this type of depression side effects are hurting everyone and most of the time they are immune to the realization. A man who at one point in his life was a good and devoted husband and father has now turned to alcohol for the simple reason of diminishing the inner turmoil and pain he is now experiencing.

Depression effects involve female depression as well with more women every day joining the unfortunate ranks of the male depression. Why is this slowly and silently becoming an epidemic? Women today are fully engaged in rubbing elbows so to speak with the working world of men and the day-to-day competition is fierce, fast, and furious to say the least. The difference comes with working women who are also mothers of young children.

Female depression is climbing the ladder along with the women who are jumping over hurdles to compete and then to succeed in whatever business field they choose to compete in. Mental depression is with these women every day as it is with male depression. Women who are succeeding in the business world still have most if not all of the obligations of raising a family, keeping a home, and competing in the employment jungle. More so with women who are single parents? Women in this category are facing such hurdles to balance family life and a working life that after a while it begins to bring them down.

Subtle and miniscule things begin to change when depression effects begin to surface. Men will turn to calling in sick, neglect to shave, wear clothing that has a disheveled appearance as if they slept in their clothing. Women begin to push away from the table, eating less, not applying their make-up, and brushing their hair. It always begins with just the slightest of changes and manifest from that point. Sadly, home life ignored by both male and female as the depression grows. Family members begin to suffer when young children left to fend for themselves. Clothing is dirty, beds left in a shamble, beer bottles, and liquor bottles strung around empty, and love, respect disappears.

Alcohol and depression will need family members and close friends to help these individuals get back on track. Encouraging them to make an appointment with the family medical physician is a good place to begin before all is lost and it becomes too late. The family unit torn apart and the depressive disorder is taking hold of the entire family. This is a very upsetting position for any individual to be in, but it is even a more traumatic experience for the children growing up in these homes.

Depression effects and the impression this makes on the children is incomprehensible. Children try to understand what is going on and make sense of it all, but it is too far from their young capabilities. A young child coming home from school to find their mother on the floor drunk leaves the child traumatized for most of their adult lives. The child tries to make excuses when other adults come to the house and cry in bed all night long because they realize they are helpless to change what is happening to the family unit.
